Technology has been proposed as the great saviour for healthcare, and in particular chronic disease. However the IT industry has been infamous for inflating its value, so we need to examine scientifically whether it is the panacea it promises, or just another Y2K exercise in hype.
In this presentation we will look at the evidence for IT helping chronic disease management, what the barriers to its implementation has been, and what needs to be done to enable it to deliver on its promise.
