Professor Maria Craig, MBBS PhD FRACP MMed(ClinEpid)
Maria is a Paediatric Endocrinologist and at the Children’s Hospital Westmead and St George Hospital, and a NHMRC Practitioner Fellow (University of Sydney).
Her major research focus is childhood diabetes, including its epidemiology and viral aetiology. She is a PI for the Australian Diabetes Data Network (ADDN), a joint initiative of APEG, ADS and the JDRFCRN. She is a CI for ENDIA and EET1DPP2 – studies investigating environmental determinants of T1D, funded by the NHMRC; and CoRD (Cord blood Reinfusion to prevent type 1 Diabetes). She is a former President of APEG and co-chaired the Australian National Evidence Based Clinical Practice Guidelines for Type 1 Diabetes. She is the chair of the steering board for VIDIS (Viruses and Diabetes International Study Group).
