Robert Lee-Young

Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, Melbourne, VIC Dr. Lee-Young is a NHMRC Career Development Fellow, and Group Leader in the Cellular and Molecular Metabolism Laboratory at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute. Following PhD studies with Prof. Glenn McConell at The University of Melbourne, he undertook post-doctoral studies in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN, USA) under the guidance of Prof. David Wasserman. In 2010, Dr. Lee-Young returned to Australia to work at the Baker IDI with Prof. Mark Febbraio. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms that regulate skeletal muscle glucose metabolism using in vivo experimental models, with an emphasis on metabolic disease states such as obesity and Type 2 diabetes.
