Kirstine Bell
Dr Kirstine Bell is a dietitian, diabetes educator and NHMRC Emerging Research Leadership Fellow at the University of Sydney, Australia, where she leads her independent research group and co-leads the Charles Perkins Centre’s Type 1 Diabetes Research Node. Dr Bell’s work spans both clinical and public health research. She received her PhD in mealtime insulin dosing in type 1 diabetes, completed postdoctoral studies at Harvard Medical School & Joslin Diabetes Center and her work has been translated into clinical guidelines worldwide. She currently leads the Australian Type 1 Diabetes National Screening Pilot and the SchoolScreen randomised controlled trial, exploring routine, government-funded population screening programs for type 1 diabetes and coeliac disease for all Australian children.
